Winton Motor Raceway is proud to announce the Leukaemia Foundation as the charity partner for the Winton V8 Supercars SuperSprint, to be held 15-17 May.

The Leukaemia Foundation is Australia’s peak body for blood cancer, funding research and providing free services to support people with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders, along with providing family support.

The Leukaemia Foundation is looking forward to gaining valuable exposure at the Winton V8 event, and reaching a widespread audience throughout north-eastern Victoria.

“It’s an exciting opportunity to be involved in iconic events like the Winton V8 Supercars SuperSprint, particularly those in regional Victoria,” said Stephanie Hechenberger, General Manager of the Leukaemia Foundation in Victoria.

“The Foundation has always maintained an unwavering focus on reducing the impact of blood cancer and related blood disorders within Victoria’s regional and rural communities, which is where people often experience the greatest difficulties in accessing healthcare,” said Ms Hechenberger.

“The Leukaemia Foundation’s latest initiative includes establishing the Victorian Patient Accommodation Centre, which will help meet the special needs of regional patients and their families who have to relocate to Melbourne for life-saving treatment.

“We hope that spectators at the Winton SuperSprint will attend our Leukaemia Foundation booth over the course of the event and learn more about the important work of the Foundation,” said Ms Hechenberger.

Winton Raceway CEO Brian Pearson said the circuit is proud to be associated with such an important charity.

“Many Australians face the challenges of some form of blood disorder every year, so a charity like the Leukaemia Foundation is vital for the community,” Mr Pearson said.

“It relies on the community to fund its valuable services for patients and research projects, so we strongly encourage all spectators at the Winton SuperSprint to donate generously.”

The Leukaemia Foundation receives no ongoing government funding and relies on the generous support of the community to fund its Vision to Cure and Mission to Care.

The Winton SuperSprint will feature Races 10, 11 and 12 of the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship, supported by Round 3 of the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series, Round 3 of the ENZED Touring Car Masters, Round 2 of the Kerrick Sports Sedans and Round 1 of the Australian Sports Racer Series.

Spectators will also have the chance to get up close to their favourite drivers and cars during the True Colour Track Walk on Sunday morning, 17 May, and all spectators are reminded to purchase their tickets online at https://www.outix.com.au/sites/winton/. Reserved grandstand seats are filling quickly, so book NOW to avoid disappointment!
