Excitement is Building for AMRS Opener.

The inaugural round of the 2018 Australian Motor Racing Series, to be held at Winton on 9-11 March is gathering momentum, with a large number of competitors already committing to the race meeting ahead of the close of entries this Friday, 23 February.

Drivers and teams are travelling from all over Australia to be part of the Benalla Auto Club-managed national series, which will include a bumper line-up of both brand-new and existing categories.

The fastest open-wheelers in the country will tackle the Australian Formula 3 Premier Series races while stars of the future will battle it out in the Australian Formula Ford Championship opener.

The quintessential Holden versus Ford rivalry will be on show in the Group 4 Touring Cars/Super Six races and V8-powered muscle cars will tear around the track in the TA2 category.

A couple of motorcycle-powered cars – Legend Cars and Miniature Race Cars – will appear on the program while fans of more exotic machinery will be served by the IROC Challenge for classic Porsches, and BMW Drivers Cup for E30 and invited cars.

Superseded V8 Utes have a new home in the Aussie Racing Utes Series, and the program will be completed by the brand-new Mazda RX8 Cup Series, Victorian Superkarts, Stock Cars and the Winton-favourite Victorian Tin Tops.

In line with the AMRS’ emphasis on value, spectators can enjoy trackside viewing of the AMRS for just $15 for Saturday, $20 for Sunday or $30 for a two-day pass, with children under 16 free.

Full entry lists for the 2018 AMRS opener will be released shortly.
