Blockbuster Entertainment for V8s

A thrilling program of entertainment, highlighted by legendary country musician Adam Brand singing the national anthem, has been confirmed for the V8 Supercars Woodstock Winton SuperSprint, 20-22 May.

Brand, who has motorsport experience as a former competitor in the V8 Ute Racing Series, will perform Advance Australia Fair in front of the V8 Supercars grid, and will also be on hand for meet-and-greet sessions with guests in the Winton corporate pavilion.

Trackside spectators will be spoiled for choice across the weekend, with a number of themed areas catering for people with different interests.

For those looking for a “rock-and-race” experience, the Woodstock Garden Bar will provide a relaxed zone for fans to soak up the racing action while being entertained with live performances from local band SMAC on Saturday and Sunday.

The merchandise area has always been one of the most popular attractions at the Winton V8 round and this year it has been expanded into the newly-branded Auto One Arena. As well as being the go-to zone for those looking to buy the latest gear from their favourite V8 team, the arena will also feature static displays of old and new vehicles, making it the ideal hub for the hard-core motoring enthusiast.

Auto One Arena will also be the perfect place for families to hang out, thanks to its sheltered areas and selection of children-friendly activities.

New for 2016 is a food court with a wide selection of eating options, and generous seating so people can enjoy a meal while still taking in the atmosphere.

All patrons at the Winton Supersprint will be kept entertained by a non-stop display of on-track activity. As well as the main-game V8s and supporting Kumho Series, V8 Utes, Touring Car Masters and Toyota 86 Series races, there will also be displays from some of Victoria’s top burnout cars. An extra super screen has been added, ensuring fans won’t miss any of the action, and commentary will again be broadcast on 87.6 Winton FM throughout the weekend.

A popular feature of last year’s V8 event was Sunday morning’s True Colours Track Walk, and this is back for 2016, giving fans the opportunity to walk onto the actual circuit and collect autographs from their favourite V8 driver.

To ensure patrons are easily able to travel around the circuit, a shuttle bus will be running all weekend, transporting guests between popular areas including the campground, carpark, grandstand, Auto One Arena and paddock entrance.

Winton is one of only three events on the V8 calendar where trackside camping is permitted and campsites are still available, but are expected to sell out quickly.

Grandstand seats are also filling rapidly so all fans are encouraged to head to the Outix online ticketing system and secure their seat for the weekend.

With the off-track entertainment adding to the bumper on-track schedule, this year’s Winton V8 event is shaping up to be the best ever, so everyone is encouraged to come along and experience the action live!
