Test & Tune days are held for the preparation and setting up of race cars, as well as enabling race competitors to gain practice driving on a race circuit.

CARS Test & Tune Days are held most Fridays dependant on the Winton Motorsport Calendar. When a race meeting is being held often the Friday Test and Tune is utilised for practice by those competitors who will be competing on the weekend.

Some Test and Tune days may be for certain types of vehicles only, so be sure to contact Winton Motor Raceway on (03) 5760 7100 to confirm or check out our calendar on this website for further details. Separate Test and Tune days will be held for cars and motorcycles.

Please note that Test & Tune days are NOT timed.

The pricing structure is:

Cars

$260.00 per participant.

Includes a garage or carport of your choosing.

BIKES

$165.00 per participant.

Including a carport.

IF YOU ATTEND A TEST AND TUNE WITHOUT PRE-BOOKING ONLINE THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $30.

Cancellations – if you need to cancel your booking, please notify the Winton Motor Raceway office by 9:00am on the day of the event you are attending. You will be issued with a voucher entitling you to an entry at a future event (must be redeemed within six months).

Event Details

The Winton Raceway gates open at 7.30am. We recommend you arrive between 7:30-8am for sign up and garage allocation along with the unloading of cars or tools. You will also need this time for drivers briefing and any scrutineering which may be applicable to you. Track activity will commence at 9:00am, finishing at 4:30pm.

Test and Tune days are generally divided into sessions for different types of vehicles, depending on the types of vehicles present. These sessions may include:

  • Tin-tops/Street-cars fast
  • Tin-tops/Street-cars slow
  • Open-wheelers
  • Radicals/Supersports cars
  • Superkarts

Test and Tune days are private sessions, and racing/competition against other vehicles is NOT permitted.

Important Requirements

Licensing

Participants at Test and Tune days are required to have either one of the following licence requirements:

  • AASA Club Racing licence or higher.
  • CAMS L2S licence or higher.

Any participant without one of these licences may purchase an AASA Annual Licence or Day Licence over the counter.  Alternatively, you can purchase these online at aasa.com.au

Clothing

All participants in Test and Tune days must wear wrist-to-neck-to-ankle fire resistant clothing.

Must have a helmet that meets Australian Standard 1698 or higher.
Must be wearing covered shoes – No sandals or flip flops allowed.
