VMRC Categories Locked In

The Victorian Motor Racing Championship (VMRC) will host 10 circuit racing categories in 2025 across the six-round season.

It sees the old favourites return, as well as some new ones joining for the very first time. Several categories will complete in all events, while others will make cameo appearances.

VMRC events will be held at the traditional venues of Winton and Calder, but in 2025 VMRC will make its debut in South Australia at The Shell V-Power Motorsport Park.

The diverse list of categories returning is as follows, Victorian Super TT, Sports Compact by 2LSS, Stock Cars Australia, Australian Drivers’ Championship, Australian Super Trucks, BMW E30s, Hyundai Excel Racing Association of Victoria and Vic V8s.

For 2025 we also welcome Saloon Cars Victoria and Formula Vee Victoria.

Two staples of VMRC have been Victorian Super TT and 2 Litre Sports Sedans, both return to contest all six rounds in 2025. Notably sports sedans return with a new name, Sports Compact by 2LSS.

Three national championships will join the VMRC in 2025. Stock Cars Racing Australia, the home of the thundering old NASCARs and AUSCARs will be at the first and last round. It will commence its season at Winton before concluding the year in November at the categories spiritual Aussie home, Calder Park.

Likewise, the Australian Drivers’ Championship, the Hyper Racer X1s will be attending two rounds. Drivers will make the trip over the border to visit The Shell V-Power Motorsport Park in May, and Victoria’s Calder Park in June.

The Australian Super Trucks are expanding interstate this year, but don’t stress if you live in Victoria, the big rigs will still be at Winton in July.

Two one-make racing series, the Hyundai Excel Racing Association of Victoria and BMW E30s will be at a pair of VMRC events. The E30s will be at Round 1 at Winton.

The ever-popular big banging Vic V8s will contest the first three VMRC rounds of the year at Winton, The Bend and Calder.

The immensely entertaining Victorian Saloon Car Series and Victorian Formula Vees will be joining the series at Winton, Round 4 at the end of July.

This VMRC season will undoubtably be one to remember with such a huge variety of categories, from trucks to Formula Vees and everything in between.
