Easter Car Mania 2 an Outstanding Success
The second annual Prime 7 Easter Car Mania festival for modified and performance cars has yielded outstanding results, Winton Motor Raceway CEO, Brian Pearson, said today. The event, which featured on-track activities over the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the Easter long weekend, generated significantly increased crowd and competitor numbers compared to last year’s inaugural event, and Mr Pearson congratulated the attendees for their support.“To have such a large increase in spectator numbers was extremely positive, and the general behaviour of both the spectators and competitors was outstanding,” Mr Pearson said.“We have received an enormous amount of positive feedback from the competitors, trade stand merchants and the general public on the running of the event, which is very encouraging for the future.“A large number of participants travelled quite a long distance to be a part of Easter Car Mania, including a significant proportion from southern New South Wales, and we were fortunately blessed with fine weather all weekend, which ensured our camp ground was well attended.”Pearson also paid special credit to the efforts of the volunteer officials in ensuring the event ran smoothly.“The contribution from the volunteer officials was nothing short of tireless, and their work is very much appreciated; without their commitment, we simply wouldn’t be able to hold major events like Easter Car Mania.“Also, a big thank you to the team of Winton Raceway staff who all worked to the absolute best of their abilities before, during and after the event.”Winton Motor Raceway’s focus now turns to its next major event, the V8 Supercars SuperSprint on 15-17 May. Mr Pearson reminded fans to buy their tickets online. Excellent corporate hospitality options are also available.“We’re looking forward to a big V8 race meeting, and we remind everyone to purchase their tickets online through www.outix.com.au – we still have reserved grandstand seating available along with general admission and also corporate packages, and we want all race fans in Victoria’s North-East to be there to experience the action live.” Easter Car Mania Results Burnout Competition1st: Shane D’Amanto2nd: Darren Simpson3rd: Andrew Pool Powerskid Competition1st: Matt Smoors2nd: Shane D’Amanto3rd: Adam Warne Drag Racing 8 Cylinder Class1st: Andrew McQualter2nd: Cameron Jones Drag Racing 6 Cylinder Class1st: David Robinson2nd: Emilo Williams Drag Racing 4 Cylinder Class1st: Matthew Johnson
