Media Release - VMRC Expands to SA in 2025
In 2025, the Victorian Motor Racing Championship (VMRC) will expand into South Australia, visiting the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park for the first time, as part of a six-round series.
The Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA) sanctioned series will make three visits to Winton Motor Raceway, two to Calder Park Raceway in addition to the state-of-the-art Shell V-Power Motorsport Park.
Round 1 will kick off at the home of the AASA, Winton Motor Raceway from March 8-9.
This is followed by the interstate trip to South Australia for the event at The Bend on May 3-4.
VMRC returns to Victoria and to the suburbs of Melbourne, visiting the historic Calder Park Raceway from June 14-15.
Both round 4 and 5 will be run at Winton, Round 4 on July 26 and 27, with Round 5 on August 30-31.
That fifth event will also play host to the popular Winton 300 endurance race that earlier this year featured a capacity grid of cars.
The 2025 VMRC calendar will conclude on the weekend of November 8-9 at Calder.
As always, in 2025 the VMRC will feature both national and state level categories, and all your favourites will be back.
National level championships include the Australian Super Trucks, Hyper Racer Australian Driver’s Championship and Australian Stock Cars. State level racing includes Sports Compact, Vic V8’s, Super TT, Excels and so much more.
The high in variety, high in action Victorian Super TT class has been locked in for all six rounds in 2025.
The big banging Vic V8s will contest the first three rounds at Winton, The Bend and Calder.
Stock Cars Australia which contains legitimate NASCARs and AUSCARs from back in the day will contest two rounds, as will the ever-growing Australian Drivers Championship, which sees open-wheel racers compete in the Aussie built Hyper Racer X1 machines.
Both national categories will run two rounds with VMRC and the others with the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series in 2025.
The Sports Compact class formerly known as 2-Litre Sports Sedans will also be at two rounds.
The Australian Super Truck Series will also be appearing as will the Victorian Excels for two events and the BMW E30s.
Round 4 will see the action-packed Victorian Saloon Car Championship and Victorian Formula Vee series on the category list.
That round in July is one you won’t want to miss, along with the saloons and vees, their will also be the Australian Super Truck Series, Sports Compact and Super TT.
The full calendar for all the regular VMRC categories will be announced in due course.
For competitors participating in the 2025 season, VMRC is hosting a Sponsor’s Day at Winton Motor Raceway on November 16th. This is for racing cars only and passengers. This is a great opportunity to thank sponsors, partners, friends and family.
