High Profile Drivers Set for Excel Enduro

This weekend’s fourth and final round of the Victorian Motor Racing Championship (VMRC) will be highlighted by the David Lowe Memorial Excel Enduro Cup, with a number of high-profile drivers set to take part.The Excel Enduro Cup will consist of a pair of 90-minute races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday; grid positions for each race will be determined by separate qualifying sessions and Top 10 Shootouts.Each car will be shared by two drivers and the races will include compulsory pit stops for driver changes, with cars required to serve a minimum stationary time of two minutes.The entry list includes several drivers with recent Supercars experience, such as Super2 race winner Jaylyn Robotham who will team up with Albury boy and fellow Supercars racer Jordan Boys.Other drivers with recent Super2 experience are Matt McLean (who will partner Antonio Molluso) and Zak Best (who will team up with Jett Blumeris).Also making a return to the track is former Supercars privateer John Faulkner, who will team up with his son Pieter.Another father-and-son combination in the field is the Mark and Blake Tracy duo; Mark is well known for his front-running performances in Thunder Sports and Super TT, while Blake has impressed in his first year of circuit racing.Regular Victorian Excel Series front-runners Brad Vereker and Toby Waghorn have respectively chosen the experienced Adam Bywater and young gun Mason Kelly – son of Todd – as their team mates, while sim racing experts Ethan Grigg-Gault and Benjamin Smith will join forces.Another car to watch will be the Murray brothers – former Carrera Cup front-runner Cooper Murray will line up alongside his younger sibling Jett, in a combination that should have plenty of raw speed.The Excels will be joined on the program by Victorian Super TT and the Victorian Formula Race Series.Super TT will see the Subaru WRX of Andrew Goldman compete against a plethora of Fords, while the Hyper Racers in the Victorian Formula Race Series will be driven by former Holden Dealer Team driver Jon Crooke and his son Dean, former Britek Supercars team manager Chris Jewell and former karters Hamish Leighton and Luke Klaver.
