Supercars are coming back to Winton in 2021!!
Winton is excited to announce that the 5th round of the Repco
Supercars
Championship is being held at Winton Raceway between the 28th and 30th of May.
It will no doubt be a great event and a welcome return to Victoria for Australia’s Premier Category.
With 2021 being the last of the current spec, there is a real excitement about what will be one of the most open Championships over the last few years.
We thank Supercars and the Victorian State Government for giving us this opportunity to bring the series to Regional Victoria so we can showcase what we have to offer.
Winton Raceway Operations Manager Jeff Grech said “We are really excited that Supercars are coming back to Winton in 2021. Australia, and in particular Victoria, have had a difficult year in 2020 so it is great to bring the action back to the State”
No doubt, there will be questions so let us tick some of these answers off straight away.
“Will you be able to have spectators?”
This is not something that Winton, or Supercars control so we just can’t answer. We have and will continue to abide by the conditions set to us by the Victorian State Government. We certainly have an expectation that there will be a number of spectators allowed, at this stage we don’t know how many but if things continue as they are we will be fine.
“Will there be camping?”
If we can, then yes absolutely there will be. Apart from the close racing, the camping is one of the best things that is available. Being able to camp right opposite the pits and right next to the action. Again though, we will follow the conditions set by the Victorian State Government regarding numbers, social distancing and other Covid related restrictions. We certainly expect that full camping will be available in May. Never know, there could be a vaccine out by then!
“When can we get tickets?”
Tickets are not on sale just yet, when they are, you can purchase them through Ticketebo.
“I bought tickets for the 2020 event, are these still valid?”
If you did not get a refund, then yes, they are still valid when ticket sales are open.
No doubt there will be a steady stream of Covid announcements that are related to events such as this, and we will ensure that you are kept up to date when this information is released.
It has been a long and difficult 2020, lets push on and get stuck into 2021 with what will hopefully be one of the best events Winton has held.
