CLW Corporate 00009

Experienced corporate manager Chris Lewis-Williams has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Benalla Auto Club (BAC) group of companies, the BAC committee announced today.

Mr Lewis-Williams has a wealth of experience in managing businesses in a variety of industries, and has also been an active participant in state-level motor racing for a number of years.

Mr Lewis-Williams has resigned all his posts with the BAC, including his position on the committee, his role as the treasurer and his directorship of all BAC companies, to take up his new role as CEO.

The committee would like to thank Wayne Williams for his efforts in stepping in as acting CEO, and Yvette Campbell for all her work in backing Wayne over the last few months.

The operations of the BAC-owned companies, Winton Motor Raceway, Wakefield Park and the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA) will remain as they are now, with the staff at both venues being excellent teams that can move forward with Mr Lewis-Williams at the helm.

As the CEO, Mr Lewis-Williams’ primary functions will be stakeholder and community engagement, leadership, mentoring, presentations and giving an overall, clear sense of purpose to the group. The managers of the entities, Wayne Williams (Winton), Matthew Baragwanath (Wakefield Park) and Bruce Robertson (AASA Chair) will be guided through the group’s culture and vision.

Mr Lewis-Williams was delighted with his appointment to the position.

“I would like to thank the members of the BAC committee for their faith in me, it is every motorsports enthusiast’s dream to be able combine our love of cars and our work life.  I cannot wait to get working with the management team at Winton, Wakefield and the AASA and drive the BAC businesses into the future,” he said.

The BAC committee hopes Mr Lewis-Williams will commence his new role shortly.
